Text Messaging Terms & Conditions


Carriers require that organizations include a section on their website for text messaging terms and conditions. This ensures transparency about text messaging practices and compliance with 10DLC standards.

Terms & Conditions Requirements

Text messaging terms & conditions are required to secure an approved use case. They should be clearly labeled as such on your website, easily accessible, and on their own page. The terms & conditions must contain the following:

  • Organization name
  • The types of messages the recipient can expect to receive (account-related, informational, marketing)
    • If your campaigns solicits donations, particularly if you register for the political or charity use case, it must be included in the opt-in language as one of the types of messages
  • Message frequency details
  • Message and data rates disclosure
  • Instructions for requesting help (Text HELP for help, contact [email address] for help)
  • Opt-out instructions (Text STOP to unsubscribe)
  • The Terms & Conditions must be linked in the Contact Source Opt-in Language

By signing up for text message updates, you agree to receive promotional, informational, or account-related messages from [Your Organization Name] at the mobile number provided by the user. Message frequency may vary based on your interactions, upcoming events, or important notices from [Your Organization Name]. Message and data rates may apply. You can request help by responding to a text message with HELP or by emailing [[email protected]]. You can opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message.
