"Queued" Number in Campaign Analytics

GetThru recently added a new "Queued Messages" statistic to the Campaign Analytics section of ThruText Campaign Details pages. This article explains what that statistic means and what actions you may want to take based on it.

What is a Queued Message?

A Queued Message is one that we have not yet sent to our downstream providers due to 10DLC rate limits. In other words, a texter has pressed send, but we are currently holding the message until we can send it safely and avoid a rate limit-based failure.

How common are Queued Messages?

Queued Messages are uncommon. For most campaigns, the number of Queued Messages will be zero.

Some messages may be queued for a short period of time due to the sending speed limits. For example, a large MMS campaign might see short-term queuing related to the speed limit for sending MMS to AT&T customers.

Some messages will be queued overnight due to the T-Mobile daily brand limit. This is the most common type of Queued Message. If you see Queued Messages after your campaign is closed for the day, it's likely you've hit T-Mobile's daily brand limit.

Messages queued overnight will be sent the next day as long as the campaign's Initial Message Sending Window allows it. If the Initial Message Sending Window has ended, Queued Messages will not be retried.

What should I do about Queued Messages?

If you see Queued Messages after your campaign is closed for the day and you want those messages to be retried when the campaign opens the next day, make sure your Initial Message Sending Window (IMSW) is available the next day. You can view your IMSW at the top of the Campaign Details page.

You can edit the Initial Message Sending Window by clicking the 'Edit' button at the top left of the Campaign Details page.

If you want to look at your Queued Messages in detail, you can create a campaign-level Messages Export. Queued Messages will have the status of "unsent." More on Message Statuses here

How often will the Queued Message stat updated?

The statistics will update upon reload of the Campaign Details page.
