Greetings ThruText Account Owners!


We’re excited to announce that ThruText is now accepting 10DLC registration information! Read on for a detailed guide to the steps required to make sure that your ThruText account is fully 10DLC compliant.


What is 10DLC?


10DLC is a new regulatory framework put forward by mobile carriers to reduce the amount of spam messages received by wireless subscribers involving a complex network of verification partners and rules. You can view more information on it here.


Here’s a brief summary of all the upcoming changes in ThruText, which ones will require action from you, and a rough timeline of when they will occur.

 


Step 1 -- ThruText will begin collecting all the data required to complete Brand & Use Case Registrations with The Campaign Registry. (Available today)

Step 2 -- ThruText will send that information to The Campaign Registry. (This week and next)

Step 3 -- ThruText will update the registration status on your account with the response from TCR. (This week and next)

Step 4  -- Once Brand & Use Case registrations are completed, ThruText will allow you to apply use cases to your campaigns. (Later this month)


What is Brand Registration? (AVAILABLE TODAY)


Mobile carriers need to know information about your organization and the types of text messages you will send. Because GetThru is a Campaign Service Provider with The Campaign Registry, we are able to help facilitate this process for our clients in order to make it as easy as possible to continue the important work you do in the SMS channel while remaining 10DLC compliant.


As of today, Brand Registration is live in ThruText, and the Account Owner for your ThruText account(s) should complete this important process as soon as possible. If your organization has not yet designated an Account Owner, please click here to find out how.


To complete your registration, the Account Owner will need to log in to ThruText and, from the Account Tools menu on the left, select “Brand & Use Case Registration”. Please be sure to have the necessary information available, including your organization’s LEGAL NAME, Employer Identification Number (EIN), phone number, email, and street address. Additionally, you will be asked to verify whether your organization is a political entity. If any of this information doesn’t match your organization’s filings the registration will be rejected and the appeal process will significantly delay your messaging, so please verify all the information is accurate before submitting.


Once you complete Brand Registration you will see a confirmation message letting you know we’ve received your registration. You can see a step-by-step guide with screenshots in this Help Center article.


What is Use Case Registration? (AVAILABLE TODAY)


Once you’ve entered your Brand Registration details, on the same page, you’ll have the ability to add Use Cases to your ThruText Account. This feature allows you to choose from a set of specific use cases available through The Campaign Registry. Selecting from these use cases will make them available, in the future, to assign to your individual ThruText campaigns as you create them, which designates that campaign’s messaging as belonging to that use case. For example: Political, Fundraising, Higher Education, Emergency Response, etc...


What is Campaign Verify? (REGISTER ASAP)


For federal, state, and municipal political campaigns, parties, and PACs there is an additional step to getting your messaging vetted. Campaigns must register with Campaign Verify to receive their Campaign Verify Token. We anticipate a potentially significant turnaround time for these requests and encourage those organizations to get started as soon as possible. Additionally, there is a fee for registration, payable to Campaign Verify. Once you've received your Campaign Verify Token you can enter it on the Brand & Use Case Registration page in your ThruText Account. You can read more about that process here.
